Calvary's Safe Return to School

Restrictions are constantly being lifted and the slow process of reverting back to what is considered normal, is becoming visible.  It is our plan to come back on campus for in-person instruction August 17th. Although this is happening, we at CCA have the health and welfare of you and your family in mind; therefore, when school commences, we will implement some extra precautionary measures to help ensure that everyone will be safe. Here are a few of the measures.

  • Temperatures will be taken at the point of entry for as long as we are required to do so.  In addition, each teacher will have a thermometer to check the temperature of students. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 will not be allowed in the building.

  • We will constantly disinfect and thoroughly clean all surfaces throughout the day.

  • Hand sanitizer will be easily accessible for everyone throughout the building, and we will ask all students and staff to constantly wash their hands.

  • We will utilize ionization machine to purify the air and kill germs.

  • Students can wear masks if they desire. We will have masks available for the students that require them.

  • We will be implementing social distancing within the classroom. Our student to teacher ratio is lower than public schools, this allows us to do strategic seating to allow for safe distancing.  We will social distance in the public areas as well, i.e. cafeteria, gym, chapel, computer labs, library.

Once again, we are planning on in-person instruction, however if restrictions were to be an impediment for us to meet; at that point, we would incorporate a revised version of distant learning. To improve our distant learning model, our teachers would continue instruction via live stream from their classrooms, in addition to Google Classroom. Please know that every effort will be made to ensure students continue receiving academic excellence.

We are closely following the guidelines and recommendations our local government communicates as they evolve. We do not want to operate in fear, but everything we do, we want to do in wisdom. We believe that there is a hedge of protection around Calvary, but we will also ask all our families to exercise personal responsibility as we partner on these unprecedented times. We will continue to keep you inform as we work hard to prepare for the 2020-2021 academic school year. We are glad you have chosen CCA for your child’s education.
