Academics

Beginning with 9th grade, all subjects whether passed or failed are included in the GPA computation. A minimum of 26 credits are typically required for graduation.

100% - 90% - 4
89% - 80% - 3
79% - 70% - 2
Below 70% is failing
 

Throughout our academic programs, Christ centered curriculum is utilized with the objective to sharpen students grade level knowledge, prepare every student for success as they progress in their academic career, and equip them to view the world through God’s wisdom and truth. The academic program is organized in an eight-period daily schedule. Dual college credits is offered to our High School students through TCC.

Spiritual Life

All MC Prep students engage in daily devotion through their Bible class called, Connect with God. They participate in worship, prayer, and learning to hear and recognize God’s voice. -Weekly chapel for secondary grades 7-12 is on every Thursday morning.

Lunch

A hot lunch option is available for students at $4.50 a day on a prepaid account through the FACTS Management System. A variety of snack items are also available daily. Multiple microwaves are provided in the lunchroom for students who wish to bring their lunch.

Technology

MC Prep has two fully equipped computer labs offering a total of more than 40 workstations. Students learn to utilize keyboard and computer software for business related classes as well as graphic design. NOTE: MC Prep reinforces a strict No Cellphone policy during school hours.
 

Online Records

All students, families, and classroom records, including grades, lesson plans, and assignments are managed online through our FACTS Management System.
 

Standardized Testing

Each 9th grade student, will be required to take standardized achievement test each spring. The results of these tests will be placed on the student’s permanent file and a copy sent home to the parents.

Every Fall, MC Prep administers the PSAT – National Merit Scholarship exam to all 10th and 11th grade students who are registered. Students need to register with the College Board to receive exam scores and resources.

Students register and pay for the ACT on the ACT registration website (ACT.com). MC Prep is not a testing site for the ACT. When registering, students will select a testing date and site.
